TicketPony

Ticket sales market website

Quicket is one of the companies in South Africa that helps event organizers to sell tickets online. Due to a strong local competition they came up with the idea of another platform (TicketPony) where people could upload tickets bought through all other platforms and resell them.

The main challenge was that each competitor had it’s own ticket-PDF format and we built a module that parses PDF’s of each format, extracts all data from it and creates a PDF of a new TicketPony-format that buyer downloads and shows at the event entrance.

Other features included:

  • – Sellers upload tickets to the system
  • – Buyers search for events and tickets
  • – Wish and waiting lists
  • – Integration with Algolia search
  • – SMS/email notifications
  • – Integration with PeachPayments payment system
  • – Profiles connected to FB
  • – Social networks sharing (FB/Twitter)

The client chose SmartexLab from a variety of other suppliers cause we knew how to work with PDFs and other fancy stuff and gave a reasonable quote. TicketPony product helped Quicket to stand out in their area and increased their sales on almost 30% in less than 4 months after the app was launched.
